New Air Intake Causing Surge Like Sounds?

Hey guys this is my first post here!

Today I installed a Process West street air intake to my FG xr6t,

When I'm driving I can hear it sucking in air quite loud but as soon as I let go the throttle it causes a loud whistle sound like air pressure!

My mate thinks it's turbo back surge but I had no idea just an intake could cause it, everything on the car is stock including computer.

Is this sound normal, good/bad and how I can resolve it?

Air intakes can make a staggering amount of noise.

The intake noise potential is not in the same league as exhaust but up there nonetheless.

To resolve, return to stock.

I installed the same Intake on my FG F6 and the sound difference is massive.If its been installed properly and you haven't touched BOV then there is nothing to worry about

Just the flutter created from the intake, doesn't sound like an issue

If you're worried get it run up on a dyno and check your air fuel ratio

I get a lot of induction noise too. Since I lowered my boost to about 16psi I get less of it. I think it's just all the turbulance from the air flow in hitting the turbo wheel as the butterfly shuts and the pressurised air in the intercooler has to go somewhere.

It was a lot worse when I had a stronger BOV or no BOV. Now I am back to the standard BOV which seems to work fine and make less back pressure/surges.
