Too Much Boost 15+ Psi

It sounds like the car has had a sneaky tune since before you bought it.

It shouldn't be running that much boost through the stock tune. Factory tune should see it sit somewhere between 4.5-6psi.

Is there a way to check if its been tuned before? Can I tune it back to stock without buying a capa tuning device??

im suprised it didnt go boom when it hit that on the stock tune.....is there a dyno you can put it on to see if its the stock tune? boost cut should kick in way befor that and you will fell it.

either:

. boost guage faulty

. actuator faulty along with a tune you dont know about

you can go to ford and get them tp load the factiry tune back on (if its been tuned...they should be able to tell you if it has aswell) I was told 75 bucks to do this....

I don't think every ford has the computer that can read if the ecu has been tuned.

any dealer can flash a factory tune back into it, but overboost will still need to be sorted out

Just take the car to your local tuner,we can advise you if you don't know any before you do any damage.
