Should a competent dealer be able to determine intermitent turbo boost problems (ie sticking swing valves etc, etc) purely from their computer diagnostic and error logging tools?

Can they tell if the T is achieving the 6PSI when it should?

Nearly a year on and mine often feels "flat" these days and I can't ever recall hearing any turbo whistle or blow-off valve noises like others here mention from time to time.  Perhaps I'm just getting too used to the 320+bhp that I could only have dreamed of a few years ago - I'm almost hoping that there is something wrong with it  :(

a few months back I had the opportunity to drive my brothers C32 AMG merc for a month (lucky B*gg*r) and that always felt sharp and never disappointed when the loud pedal was pressed.

teebone, Theres not much a ford dealer can do to check power or boost pressure unless the engine is tested at full load on a chassis dyno.

A full dyno test is only a 30 minute job and theres plenty around in metro Melbourne.

I delivered my car to the dealer yesterday for my boost problem.

I presented an A4 page of symptoms, observations, and some of the anecdotes from this site (sticking swing vavles & siezed wastgates) - the service advisor excelled himself by proceeding to discredit everything listed !

Fills you with confidence ! NOT ! :smilielol:

They will have it for the rest of the week (at least), so we'll see if they can find anything - and how many new problems they can inflict on it !

Worst case, I might have to take a drive down to Melbourne, drop the car in to Peter Luxon at APS and check out the Grand Prix ! ;)

just a word of advise guys on the no boost problem, first thing to check is all your intercooler plumbing, I got mine out of the factory with the bottom cooler pipe hanging off, I also replaced all my clamps with proper leak proof items at a cost of $15 each they have stayed on so far

good luck
