So today my mechanic was fitting Plazmaman valve springs to my BA motor.. I hoped to push 350 out of it

whilst he was pressurizing number 3 cylender my mechanic noticed a whole heap of air escaping, we got the cameras out and dived into the cylender head to find a scortched bore. and it was even worse on number 6.

just goes to show the luck of the draw, this motor had just hit 100ks with the previous owner not giving it a hard time at all. it had only been running about 8psi on 42lb iinjectors for a couple of years.

its sad because it pulls me away from the xr6 turbo motor a little. I dont have the money for a rebuild at the moment nor a new motor, so im stuck for ideas.

so this is my situation a very neat xr6 turbo ute, with lights mods and lowish ks, I want 350rwk that's my project and my plan, opinions as to cheapest/best way to do this?

Ok so you buy the short for 2700-3000, is it just labour to fit the short or are there like other things you need to buy to get it in and running... Seals gaskets etc...?

yep, being a ba it would be best to recon the head, install valve springs and do the oil pump as well while it is all apart.

Will need full gasket kit and new head bolts as mentioned above
