post-51065-0-43780400-1336037993_thumb.jhi everyone, I have a problem, I need help as I dont want to get ripped off, anyway I own a 2003 BA XR6 Turbo ute 4 speed auto, today when driving I lost power, I put my foot on it and nothing, I had no power, but the engine was still running, I put my foot down again and the engine didnt even rev, but it was still running. I rolled to a stop tested reverse, fine, but then I noticed that the D was flashing, I turned it off and then back on and drove off, everything was fine, how ever it another 2 times on the way back home each time it done it the D would flash off and on! . So now Im pissed off....it has had a service not to long ago and only has 112000ks on it, can someone tell me if it could be a sensor playing up. regards me :)

Limp mode of gear box can really only ever be:

Loss of voltage

Loss of earth

Stall speed to high based on wheel speed.

So battery is always a good one to check.

There is also engine LOS mode which is similar to Limp mode of gear box.

This could be either.

hi and thank you for the reponses to my question, but I have to say the battery is fine, nothing wrong with it! starts 1st time every time.

So it could be the TPS or the MAP sensor, that's sending into limp mode, is that correct?

Bad earth

Tps on pedal or throttle body

Stall speed too high for given wheel speed ( maybe box slipping)

Bad connection to ecu.

Bad ecu

Don't rule out the battery just yet either. Bad battery can cause problems even when the car is running regardless of how it starts.
