Product is now being shipped around Australia to APS agents. The only significant difference between the Sedan and Ute PHASE II System is the exhaust system. Both systems are of very similar design – that is 3½” cat, 3½” intermediate pipe. 1st muffler splits into twin 2½” tail pipe and rear muffler is twin 2½”.All APS exhaust systems to suit the XR6 Turbo are polished 304 stainless steel, 304 stainless flanges, 304 stainless mufflers internal and external, including the stainless 304 3½” mega flow cat. This exhaust system is emission and EPA noise legal to at least 375 kW (500 hp). These exhaust systems are amazing in terms of power potential and whisper quiet in part throttle cruise conditions between 60 kph to 160 kph. Will post some pictures on our web site soon.PeterAPSUnichip – 11.36 sec @ 126.38 mph

Did you get the launch right in the end? - It sure takes some time to get the right stall speed to get off the line quickly. Harder than it looks - right!?!What do you think of the Phase II system, now that you've had some time in the big ute? - Would be great to have some feedback if you have time to post.Have a good Xmas!PeterAPS

Posted 22/12/03 07:05 AM Posted 22/12/03 07:05 AM Thanks Peter,For the Ute & the advise and help on Friday.Don't know that I got it right, but I cerainly got it better!I ended up with a best of 13.49 with a 2.26 60', 107.32MphPretty happy with that for a first timer,on 19" street tyres that you can't really let down too much for traction. Next time I'II bring the slicks out.Feedback, no problem.AWESOME!!!!!Since I bought the ute I have had that little man in the back of my head saying "shoulda got the V8". Well I can tell you, he's gone, since I picked up the car from you last week. While talking to a guy at Calder on Friday, he was telling me how it sucked that he couldn't drive his V8 around much coz it overheated, didn't idle etc. etc. and he was running only slightly quicker than me.The power is unbelievable, but I can still drive my mother in-law around without a worry. My slower than expected times on Friday were a combination of ME as the driver and the 38 degree day you guys had to tune my car in. I'm sure with the right day for tuning we will extract another 10-20kw out of the beast and I will crack a 12sec pass. The whistle from the Turbo is a bit louder but it is not "cop attracting" or annoying loud. The power is smooth and seems to come on about 4-500rpm earlier than it did previously, and when it comes ooooh she comes!! Would I recommend this to anyone? OH YEAH, to everyone!!! And to be able to upgrade to Stage III for a small outlay is great. Let me know when It can be done, or if you need a guinnea pig ute

We all improve with more experience, the 13.49 @ 107.32 mph is very respectable, with decent tires a high 12 is definitely achievable and a mid 12 with the slicks I'm glad to hear that the little man has gone away, there's nothing like turbo power other than the sound of a V8. Just wait until you upgrade to the phase 3, you will wonder why anyone would bother with a V8, unless it's a twin turbo V8. Let me know when you have an additional 3000 kms on the vehicle and we'll get it back on the dyno for some final tweaking, this time lets choose a cooler day, it's much easier on the vehicle and quicker to achieve the optimum state of engine tune. I would be very interested to know what fuel consumption you record over the next 3 - 4 tanks, this will give me an insight as to how tight the engine is.Look forward to hearing from you in the new year, have a great Christmas holiday Peter APS

At these figures the Stage II kit will pay for itself in fuel consumption savings.
