A mate has a '04 Falcon and wants to know peoples thoughts...

I've got a stationwagon & I'm going to install two Rockford Fosgate T2 series subs with corresponding amps, I was wondering which sizes of subs would respond best to metal & Techno (hardstyle, dubstep etc) I've heard that 15s are good for deep bass but not so good for higher bass. Thoughts?

Anyone able to help me out/him out?

The smaller the woofer, the tighter and punchier the bass is. The larger the deeper and resonant the bass is. 12inch is a ideal compromise. But personally I think a 10 inch with a really long throw sounds best!

I use a single compitition 12 inch sub getting just over 2000watts rms in a dual ported box. Using remote gain control it provides a really good amount of bass in my falcon. But seeing as my normal listening gear is just as good quality I would like just a wee bit more when it's fully cranked..

But having that said I o ly turn it up that loud to show off. You'd literally go deaf from too much of

It :/

Cool, thanks guys. I was thinking the smaller subs would be better for what he wants as well.

Go twin 12 inch. We have 2 x R type with option audio amps.

I have the same, but alpine amps.. Good compromise, as I like hip hop and a bit of techno, dance etc...

I have 2 alpine r's on a pdx 1200w rms amp. They are in a sealed box now and sound alright but a proper ported box gives the best sound I reckon. It depends on how much boot space you want to take up. 1 x 15 in the perfect box would probably sound better the 2 subs in an insufficient box. The box is a huge factor in the sound of the subs

Wally at Top End Audio in Perth, designed the whole system and built the ported box. Maestro speakers , doors and parcel shelf, the sound is so clean

Just read its going in a wagon. Go 2 x 12s in the best ported box to suit the subs. It will be big and heavy but should sound great. will require some serious power for those subs.

MX Dave, How does your elect system handle that much stereo? have you put your battery in the boot or do run a big capacitor?
