arronm Dropping a turd Gold Donating Members 9,520 Member For: 17y 7m 18d Gender: Male Location: Perth Posted 30/01/12 06:01 AM Share Posted 30/01/12 06:01 AM (edited) One of ours with the crimped ends is doing a little dribble. And if you have the clear coating on the line near the turbo end and its not protected it will burn and turn black.I put a heat sleeve on.Poor photo but you get the idea. Everyone has different opinions on what the problem is and what caused the turbo to die. Do I do every possible check on the motor, hope for the best and re-fit new / 2nd hand turbo with braided turbo line, or should I pull the motor out clean / check that nothing was damaged in the process and while im at it rebuild with stronger rod/pistons.? ratter Member 6,793 Member For: 19y 18d Gender: Male Location: @ my laptop Posted 30/01/12 11:51 PM Share Posted 30/01/12 11:51 PM do the test cold and if pressure appears good let the oil get up to temp by leaving it run and record what pressure it is when the oil is hot.If oil pressure is good then check flow at the turbo. If good then check the drain back hose is free. Fingers crossed that everything is ok should be getting the test done sometime this week or saturday at the latest.
