December 2, 200322 yr #21 WRX03> Your mate has good sense ... after you have a drive you may too. Don't think you'll get too many bites from those around here - the majority are cardigan clad, bowler hat wearing old farts, many of whom have lost the ability to count and have to drive alphabet gearboxes ... That's a bit harsh don't you think? I can still count to one ...
December 2, 200322 yr #22 Hey WRX03, If you've come to stirr, you've come to the right place ... these guys will bite at just about anything. I should know ... Enjoy the cars, the site, the people and the info. What sort of welcome is that!!Are you going softer in your old age Ken.The NEWBIE has the good sense to read about a very good car but he does need a bit more of a "Kentroduction" than that limp effort you delivered.Of course, anyone who has a WRX (made out of old fighter planes that bombed Darwin back in WW2) and comes to this site to gloat about how the AWD system makes it 'fulsik real fast' needs to be welcomed in a better way....Hi NEWBIE......a 2003 WRX eh? Went car shopping during a blackout so you couldn't see how ugly they areBet you got a big surprise when the sun came up and school children sniggered as you drove past Welcome
December 2, 200322 yr #23 He hasnt had a newbie hit back for a while, maybe he's lost his nevre. C'mon Ken, lift your game. Dont go soft now.
December 3, 200322 yr #24 Plonky, if you think the 03 rex is ugly I believe you've got issues, maybe your just so used to seeing falcondoors that you think big overweight taxi's resemble sports cars..I chose the rex because it's small light and handles well, I couldnt care less about draging people off I just want somthing that is quick in the twisties and is fun to drive.I think the T is a step in the right direction for the aussi market but I personally wouldn't buy a Ford or Expensive Daewoo if they were the last cars on earth...terrible resaleshonky build qualityand every man and his dog has one..also what is the problem with this build quality issue, true rexi's have been around for years to iron out problems but so have falcoons, just because you slip in a turbo you forget to paint the car properly, stuff the brakes up, have diff problems etc. how can all these things be blamed on the turbo, I think it's just Ford not matchin it with the Japs....this should get some bites
December 3, 200322 yr #25 this should get some bites and every man and his dog has one.. Me first. And Rexs are so unique I can't really comment on the other issues as I have never been in a WRX to know how they compare build wise to a XR6T. Didn't some models have 'issues' with the gearbox blowing up and clutches?
December 3, 200322 yr #26 Every man and his dog has one???? says a subaru owner????Pot calling kettle..... situation black!!!!Maybe you can answer a question that has been bugging me though......Do subaru drivers all drive with their fog lights on in all weather conditions because, like volvo's you can't turn them off, or is it coz you are all tossers????This has bugged me forever coz between subaru drivers and commode drivers, they always have their friggin' fog lights on.... even when it AIN'T FOGGY!!!!!!!!
December 3, 200322 yr #27 gearboxes and clutches are always going to struggle when you have alot of power, thier fine if your not draging everyone off the lights doing ful sic 6000 RPM launches, although I agree alot of young ful sico's give Rexy's a bad rap but it's just because they are such good performance for the money, most 19 year old ful sico's can't afford $50000 XR6t's to your rep should be safe for a couple of years when you will be able to buy secondhand T's for 20k :D
December 3, 200322 yr #28 never used my foggies yet but they do have a switch.me think they'res more falcoons on the road than rexies, sure probably less XR6T's than rexies but you can only tell the differance if your close enough to read small red writing.also lets see how many there are in a couple of years time
December 3, 200322 yr #29 dude, if you look at the front of an xr6t, there's an intercooler as well.........
December 3, 200322 yr #30 me think they'res more falcoons on the road than rexies, sure probably less XR6T's than rexies but you can only tell the differance if your close enough to read small red writing.also lets see how many there are in a couple of years time XR6Ts have only been out for just over 12 months so I doubt very much if there are more of these than WRXs, as they've been out for years. If you include all models of Falcon well then of course there are more! There isn't such a huge price difference between new WRX and XR6T - $44990 for auto Rex sedan vs $46005 for auto XR6T. Then there's STi for $56630.
