Garmin Ecoroute

I bought a cheap GPS unit today a Garmin 1390T. Found out when I got it home you can get an OBDII reader to go with it.

Does anybody have experience with this and is it worth the hundred bucks or so for the reader unit?

Looks good, but how are you supposed to keep an eye on the gauges (for example) if it's supposed to be telling you where you're going??

depends on what you want out of the obd 2 port.

if youhave an android phone u can get bluetooth obd2 dongles and an app called torque ,

its a good bit of gear

Would the info it supplies still be relevant if the car is tuned/has different injectors?

yes , dont matter if its tuned or not still used the same dmrs and pids

oh wow...looks like you have stumbled accross something pretty handy there.

when your not using GPS, just have it on and use all the features from the OBD.

pfft who needs guages...ill just buy one of these.

Seems like theyre just charging $150 for the bluetooth obd2.

Still need a Garmin NUVI to use it..

I could buy the Torque app and a bluetooth obd2 for $20, hook it up to my Samsung Galaxy and have the same thing, and save $250

I dont have an Android phone but have an iphone for work. There seem to be some pretty good programs for that too which have some more features.

elm327 (bluetooth based ) dont work with iphones due to Iphones lack bluetooth stack abiitly , you will need a wfi dongl , kiwi wifi isthe most cmmon.ebay abot 50-60 bucks

I got a Garmin 3790T today and the retailer thew in the BlueTooth EcoRouteHD cable. The fuse cover panel obviously won't go on with the connector in the OBDII port but it definitely works. The gauges are about half a second behind the real ones (noticable on the RPM guage) but it looks pretty bling.

I was using this on my FG FPV F6.

There aren't millions of gauge options available and only some of them are 'cool'. I will post a pic tomorrow so you can see it in action. I'm not sure its worth the $190 its advertised for, but like I said, I got mind thrown in
