hi all, went to powercruise on saturday and blew my gearbox up, its a ba mk1 5 speed, making a tad over 300rwkw. got abit carried away on the day I spose, the clutch feels fine and when car is turned off it goes through the gears fine, but start it up and it sounds like a blender, anybody know what part I might of broken? and what would be the better option, get the 5speed rebuilt with good gear or go the t56? I eventually want 350rwkw. keeping in mind I dont have a fortune to spend. any help/ides would be great, cheers

hey champ im going through the same thing right now just done some work to the car got some great power ,clutch had a cardic replaced that and now the box cant take the power so its spitting out bearings like M&M's.

there is a place in Adelaide that can rebuild the T5 to handle 550hp but the charge$$$$ 4-5k so what I think the only way out is to go T56 .I'm just trying to find out if there is any difference between a non turbo and a turbo T56 and if so what it is.

Yeah I was thinking the Same thing bout rebuillding t5 but if costs the same+ more I'll Just get the t56, I just hope the clutch fits cause it's not barely done 7000ks. Not sure if there's a difference either. How much power are you putting out?

FYI Site sponsor Mal Wood Automotive has NEW T56's conversions to suite 5sp cars for only a couple of hundred more than the price you quote
