Don't bother... Building non standard stuff requires lots of customized stuff = $$$$... save you cash and buy a BA when you can afford it.

Otherwise you get an overpowered

Engine with underpowered driveline and sh*t brakes = lose...

Oh and turbos don't have "extractors as such... The exhaust manifold runs to the turbo... Which has a dump pump... It's not like a naturally aspirated car...

When you say you dont want to spend much mate how much are we talking?

Converting an older Falcon like that into a good reliable turbo charged car will cost quite a bit even if you get half the parts for free!!

Give you some advice, enjoy the car as much as you knowing that it wont be the last car you own, save up and get yourself a nice BA. They are going for SFA these days. But if you really want to know the costs involved talk to a sponsor or 2 in your area, It could be a fun job for someone but im sure after they quote it you will take our advice.

Good luck!

You guys are boring.

Go for it dude, a turbo pushing 8-9psi will make about 220rwkw and won't require any tuning.

You can buy kits new from snort performance for a bit over 3k iirc.

Or I have a mate that might be selling everything to turbo one, I can find out what he wants for it. Includes a gt35/40, manifold, full exhaust, cooler and piping, intake and pod, and an Ed inlet manifold. Made 235rwkw@8psi.

For sure go for it! I love seeing older cars with turboed engines!

That being said expect to have to fork out alot of money. Even with off the shelf kits you will have to think about other parts eg transmission, diff, fuel system, tyres, brakes etc etc etc.

No good having a car which only lasts a few weeks.

Probably not ideal for a daily but awesome for a project :beerchug:

It may be cheaper just to buy an Auto BA but at least with the EL you wont have driveline problems. The EL fixed axle, one piece driveshaft is a much more reliable setup.

My neighbours was a daily. With just the bolt On kit and 8psi he never had any troubles. You also need an electronic shift kit to get the auto to shift under boost, but there cheap enough too.

There was a guy on here who did it for under two grand. Didn't even have to ping his ecu. Still ran the n/a gaskets and compression too. I am led to believe the car ran fine and still is.

If you can do 80 to 90% of the work yourself then just do it. If you have to pay someone to do it ... well that's when it gets contentious
