highland Member 5 Member For: 16y 6m 7d Posted 05/03/11 07:42 AM Posted 05/03/11 07:42 AM Hi guys, rocked up to my mates place to drop something off today.. pushed it into reverse, backed out his driveway and it wouldnt engaged drive or any other gear, tried turning it off and back on now it wont start cause it thinks its still in reverse.if I turn the ignition on the engine light comes on.had to push the damn thing into my mates yard and leave it therewhat the hells going on does anybody heard of this happening before ? checked for leaks cant see any either

It made a strand noise whilst driving so I pulled into a car park to look under the car..couldnt find anything so I went to reverse out of the park but it wouldnt go..Even tried to push it and it wouldnt go backwards..Was locked in 1st...Found out it was my plantery gears..They were all f*ckED up...dont know why they sh*t them selves...Could be something simualr..
highland Member 5 Member For: 16y 6m 7d Posted 05/03/11 09:02 AM Author Posted 05/03/11 09:02 AM good god I hope not... the box is all sloppy its not "shifting" into gears with it turned off or anything... its a stock bf turbo I can push it forward and back no worries with the car offI just dont get it, I rolled up dropped stuff off got back in hit reverse which felt sloppy then it wouldnt select anything else :( instrument panel lit up like a damn xmas tree

highland Member 5 Member For: 16y 6m 7d Posted 05/03/11 09:33 AM Author Posted 05/03/11 09:33 AM (edited) ive had a look underneath and all is fineI think its an electrical problem.. ive just come back in from putting the terminal back on the battery after a good half hour and it still thinks its in reverse ( instrument cluster ) and wont attempt to kick over because of italso checked both fuse panels ( in cabin and engine bay ) for anything to do with the gearbox and there all fine aswellis there anywhere in brisbane where I can get a plug in diagnostics done on a sunday ? might help considering my engine lights came on Edited 05/03/11 09:36 AM by highland

But have you checked to see if the selector cable is connected to the tranny still? or you could disconnect it to manually select park or neutral and see if it will start.

As was mentioned if all fuses okay and battery disconnect doesn't affect issue - then could be the CPU is rattled. You can possibly test by swapping blue box sitting under and attached to ICC with a friends that works (same model). Best bet is to let the pros at it like a forum site tuner or Ford to connect up diagnostics. Good luck with it
