Helpful Tips For A New Fg Turbo Ute?

Hi all,

just put a deposit down on a FG turbo ute (auto).

What are some handy tips and advice for starting out.

It has a flash box tune, air intake and 3inch exhaust catback.

Straight away find ou if it's a generic or custom tune. If it's custom at the bare minimum the owner should have dyno sheets for you, if it isn't, get a custom tune done before something breaks.

and a 3in exhuast is to small, need to upgrade to a 3.5 or twin 2.5

There is nothing majorly wrong with the FG factory exhaust. The problem is the dump and restrictive cat but even that's good for 400+rwhp. IMO, spend your money on a decent tune, upgraded cooler and pipe kit. If you don't want to chop your car up, fit the new PWR stepped version - it's a direct fit. Tune, cooler upgrade, and XR8 airbox will net you around 270 - 290rwkw and do it all day. Injectors + turbo back zorst (and maybe fuel pump) and you'll land 300+. It just comes down to coin mate.
