Axle Tramp In The Wet Only

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

When the road is wet my car tramps horribly when losing traction, but when I lose traction in the dry it doesn't.

Any ideas why?

Less surface tension.

Can I fix it?

Would tramp rods help in this situation?

I would have expect it to being happen in the dry not wet as it would spin then get traction then spin again. What size tyres and all that are you running, is traction on or off?

They are new Federal 595 ss's. 235/45/17.

I dont have traction control.

I thought it would be more prone to tramp in the dry as well but it only happens in the wet.

Its really annoying because if I lose traction by accident it feels like the diff is going to smash up through the floor. It cant be good for the driveline.

It turns out I have the older type of king springs which are prone to tramp.

I changed out my lokka for an LSD and it has improved but it still tramps when I try to launch hard.

New rear springs will help hopefully.
