Help Choosing First Mod(S)

I bought mkII BF xr6 at christmas and have finally decided to start doing some modifications. I've been browsing these forums for about 4 months getting ideas on what mods but I'm stuck on what to do first. I've been looking at CAIs, underdrives, and exhaust setups so I'll probably end up going with one of those. I have some cash I need to get rid of, but the problem is I'm really picky. So any advice on what mods to go with first would be appreciated.

The question is what is your budget, then work out the best way to spend that cash? 6 speed auto or manual?

It's a 6 speed auto. I have around $2500 to spend. Can I ask where you got your bodykit from?

If you have that sort of money, get your cat changed leave the rest of the exhaust, 60lb injectors, and a rapid v3 kit, labour is money, do as much as you can yourself if you can. Though you might have to get some of those bits second hand to stay under $2500. Add $450 for dyno time with whatever you do to the car. You will easily make minimum 310rwkw, that will get you a 12 second car easy. Later on change the rest of the exhaust, fuel pump, turbo actuator and you should make 360rwkw. You may also need valve springs changed at that level.

From the sounds of it some of those mods are for a turbo. My car is a non-turbo.

if your after looks, rims, lowered, tint always goes well. Get and exhaust if you want a bit of noise. but if your after power yes lol you could buy a turbo. I dont see the point in spending money on a na to make more power. mates have done it in the past and the difference is hardly noticable for me. maybe post up a pic so we can see what we are working with

You might be better off on Australian Ford Forums with an NA. They deal with all sorts of Fords and all types of engines. We are a little imbred ....though you can get plenty of good info on other aspects other than NA mods here.

PS, if you are after a bodykit from fibre sports...their retail pricing has a lot of room to negotiate. I got mine complete with grill for a lot less through the panel shop.

PS for engine mods you would want full exhaust, underdrives, cams and a tune. Though you'll have to ask someone who knows which brands to get.

Was just reading up on it, cams get you bugger all apparently, you might be better off dropping them and going for diff gears.

Mate, for $600 get your self a BluePower Cold Air Intake, for $400 get your car lowered a bit. And for $1500 get your self a damn good full exhaust, Extractors to tip.

That's exactly $2500, including labour. And you have your self a #UCKING AWESOME sounding beast, with the air intake GROWL and the exhaust rumble, plus the look with the lowering (these cars look GREAT just lowered a bit) and much better performance!

Then wait a little more until you have about $1000, and get it custom tuned, and find either 3.75 diff or even 4.11 and you will be keeping up and beating stock turbo's!

Have fun, its so rewarding getting that N/A going hard, and the N/A will ALWAYS sound better than the turbo, through the air intake and exhaust!
