March 14, 201016 yr #1 Hi everyone,I'm new to the forum, so g'day.I've just purchased a July '07 BFII XR6T auto. A bit high in the mileage, but is a one owner, was a great price, was fully optioned and drives as tight as a drum!! Definitely the best of any that I drove and that included a couple with quite low mileage. The original owner is a freak in the way he has looked after it. Happy days for me I guess.....Anyway, the bloke I bought it from has told me that it has not been tuned, flashed or chipped etc, but he knew that I was looking for one that I could extend the NCW on, so he would say that. Now, is there anyway for me to tell if the car has been flashed, tuned or chipped etc? I want to extend the NCW, but can't see the point if it has been played with therefore the driveline won't be warrant-able anyway?I should say that I can't notice any difference between my car and any of the countless others that I drove, but who knows really??Any help guys??Phil
March 14, 201016 yr #2 ...has it any visual changes....cooler pipes...air intake box...cross over pipes....if not I would say probably not...Do you trust the guy you bought it off....you trusted him to buy it...so why not believe him when he told you its std...... What made you think it wasn't std???Mate your really asking how long is a piece of string....BTW some photos of the car would be nice...Enjoy the forum...you will find many helpful people here....I just happen not to be one of those...
March 14, 201016 yr #4 how do u have NCW on a 07 model?2 year 100,000ks?Use a flasher and put back to std tune 500k before service and u shoulds b fine, the data only logs so far back
March 14, 201016 yr #5 I think you will find Ford offer a 3 yr warranty so depending when it was bought it may be covered up till Dec as long as it is under 100K. And I wouldn't be so sure of the flashing either as ford can tell how many times the ECU has been flashed with the BF's. I would ask your dealer if they say it's fine then extend. March 14, 201016 yr #6 Take it to the dealer. They will check the and if they agree to cover it then that's the bonus.
