Reverse Sensors (Ex-Cop?)

Hey guys. I'm about to buy a BF 06 XR6T 6sp AUTO 44,000kms, and was wondering if the car I'm buying is an ex-cop car. They kept stressing that this one was the only non ex-cop car selling within the surrounding regions.

The car has those plastic mud flaps, premium sound with 6 stacker and colour screen, tinted windows, full auto windows, tow bar and now what's been bugging me, reverse parking sensors. I cant remember where, but somewhere I heard that only ex-cop cars got the reverse parking sensors, unless you optioned it from new. But wouldn't that mean you would also get front sensors? Oh, and its a Blue colour. Not that light blue with glitter in it, just that deep plain blue.

So with all that information, what do you guys think, could this be an ex-copper? Any input would be appreciated!

You are not correct, the sensors can be fitted aftermarket by dealers.

You also cannot get factory front sensors.

The easy way to tell is look in the handbook and it should have the origional owners name.

as above check the owners manual and if that fails

check around the boot lining for small holes where things were mounted as well as on the frame of the boot below the where the spoiler is mounted on the inside

and look for holes around where the computer is fitted in the engine bay

then below the fuse panel inside the car check too see if any wires have been cut and joined back together and then wrapped back in electrical tape

I would rather an x wally that's been well serviced than a civvy with no service.

Things to check

ICC dash spears - used for mounting

Under the boot lining rubber for 2 small holes either side - run wires through for lights

Under the hood above the battery near windshield for holes - used for mounting

Drivers side firewall plug - they cut it to run wires through

Driver and Passenger side B Pillar under the rubbers - often drill holes for wires

Driver and Passenger side B Pillar on top of roof - top mounted roof lights, check with magnet to make sure it hasnt been bog filled

Dash displays P with speed readout - Cluster set to "Police" mode

They are all the goodies to look out for, I learnt the hard way.

While test driving it, I didn't see any holes or screws at all around the ICC or any where. So I'm feeling confident that it wasn't an ex-copper. But once again, would the coppers use a vehicle like the one I might be buying with all those options I mentioned? Or most likely not?

Tow bar is a bit out of place but you never know. Did you check the logbook?

Actually, now that I had a good look at the papers, it says its got the "Luxury Pack".
