it varies from bank to bank. I know any cheques that we get for my work clear overnight through the NAB. Whereas I bank with a smallish building society and it generally takes 3 business days to clear.

Your best bet is to just ask the CBA.

The bankers own the earth, so it will be when they decide. Usually 3 days if you you don't pay the $25 extortion they demand for a fast clearance

Depends on your account, business accounts will usually honour all cheques straight away and then adjust later if required.

The only cheques that are banked as cleared funds across the board are from the ATO normally...otherwise yeah it's three days.

yep you got that right you would think all banking transactions are done electronically these days so anything longer than a few mins when done within australia is a rip off but besides hiding your money under ya bed whata do

its just a normal bank account

Yeah Commonwealth. Send or recieve a 100k internationally via internet and they give you 2 cents less in the dollar than the standard rate and still slap you with a $25 transfer fee, adds up to as lot of money. Still the fractional banking system creates money out of nothing and charges interest on it. Look at what the scum just did to the global economy. Lot of people have gone from the Pent house to the Sh!thouse in the blink of an eye.

yep their assholes a few weeks ago the bank owed me money because of a mistake they made took 21 days the get sorted but guess what when they repaid me they stuffed up again and instead of paying the 550 bucks I was owed I recived 1100 double the amount

I seen this on my statement and guess what the next day I look again and without asking me I see 550 bucks has been withdrawn so I called them to ask how they can just take money without asking me first

and the girl said it looks you were paid double so the bank took the back the money ..............

I said isnt it amazing how when the mistake is in my favour you have the staff and time to fix it straight away but when I was owed by you (the bank ) the bank told me it takes a lot of staff and time to fix something like this its not just as simple and giving you your money back

I said 21 days to vs one day come on

all I got was sorry followed by a long pause and ask if id like to make a complaint I said dont bother ill gain nothing besides wasting more of my time

oh and back on topic regarding the bank cheque I called them today and was told wednesday

cheers trev
