4Wd Xr6T

I have been wondering for quite some time now if any one has looked into transfering the running gear from a 4WD territory into a xr6t? I know it wouldnt be a small job but as the saying goes "where theres a will there's a way"

let me know your thoughts

iv seen a few xy's that are jacked up and converted to 4x4 and all I can say is it looks sh*t and so would a xr6 if you did the same

those xy's were factory done back in the day..

I think he means 4wd running gear but have the car look the same from the outside. Would be a pretty interesting project, I wonder how much weight it would add though?

oh really, ford brought out 4x4 xy's out of the factory, well I never knew that

it would be pretty good if it did add any ride height and would be interesting to see one rip around a track

yer I meant just the running gear so from the outside it looked like a stock xr6t.

I remember reading somewhere that before the Territorys were release, Ford tested all the 4wd running gear in falcons. This was done as to not spoil the launch of the Terri's before it was offically revealed. But who knows how much was chopped and changed to get it all to fit

Cause the front driveshafts run just under the different sump in the Territory they will not fit in a Falcon with the lower ride height. The driveshafts would have to run through the bottom of the block.

The early Raptor prototypes used a Territory chassis with the Falcon sedan body modified to fit it, the roof was jacked up etc to match the Territory's dimensions. Just like the current T6 protypes use the T6 chassis with the current Ranger/Bravo bodies on top, the guards have been pumped out a few inches to fit the wider track of the T6.

Hey I had an XY 4x4 ute.

It was unreal. Cept the poor 250 was a bit weak in it with the three on the tree. But a 2V head with a bit of work and a big fat holley and it was a great car. There is one in Coolum in great nick. I have hasseled the guy to sell it but no luck so far.

Sorry but why would you 4wd a falcon sedan.

Pro's; grip in the wet.....maybe

con's; weight, cost, even worse understeer. It really would not handle any better.

Remember the ELF 4 4 front wheels and two rear. Didn't even last the season
