Tail Shaft Loop

As the heading says, I'm after a tail shaft loop for my car. I've seen a couple already, but they all look a little dodgy and backyardish. Now I know its under the car and nobody will see it, but the ones I've seen look sh1t and just hammered into place with a few nuts and bolts.

Does anyone know of a place that make them and who have placed some thought into their design?

I have put some thought into the design of tailshaft loops into xr6 turbos. I use a 360 degree chromoly loop which is welded into place in the transmission tunnel and has been andra approved. They weigh next to nothing and can be fitted in under an hour unlike the bulky bolt in generic versions out there.

I was just thinking about these. Do you need it if you run under 12.0 at a street meet or is it only for ANDRA competitions?

If I may...

A tailshaft loop is just a metal bracket or loops which is located around the tailshaft (gearbox end) to prevent it from dropping and hitting the ground if the front universal joint, yoke or the shaft itself fails and breaks.. this is to prevent the shaft spearing into the ground and attempting to pole vault the rear of the car, which normally does a poo-load of damage...

It only has to support the weight of the tailshaft and really, they are a pretty basic and simple item..

In the old days we used to make them ourselves from some flat steel. However, those days are gone so now we pay someone to make one and put a sticker on it with the inevitable "performance" stamped on it somewhere..
