What Should I Look For In A Bigger Turbo?

Hi all,

I will soon be looking at replacing the standard turbo so that I may get more power. I am considering a TO4Z as a replacement as I only want to get to aroung 450 rwkw. Unfortunately I have absolutely no idea about turbos or how housing sizes or impellers affect performance. Could someone please shed some light on the subject and maybe tell me what I should be looking for so that I will not be sold the wrong product.. Thank you for your time...

The to4z from the results ive seen still remain a very streetable option with giving you that bit more up top that your chasing. Have seen mid to highish 400's with all the supporting mods on race fuel so should do ok. The exhaust manifold you go with as well as your supporting mods can & will affect not only your topend figure but also how it drives day to day. Either 6boost who I use or etm both make top notch gear.

Best thing to do s have a flick through the 400 club & look at some of the bigger figures there & see what combo's they have gone through & some of there comments on how it performs daily.

Not all manifolds are created equal, boost control is something that not a lot of turbo manufacturers take into account and ETM manifolds have the best boost control on the market bar none.

ETM also does complete kits for xr6t's which no other manufacturer does which save you a lot of headache in the long run as you do not have to chase up hard to find loose ends and truck the car around to have the remaining pieces of the kit fabricated up.
