saw the vid when it was released.

there are more people behind what you see, than what you see.

this is more than just ddos attacks.

however simple things like this will do anything more than create an 'omgwtf' factor to the public.

at least it brings this issue to light.

censorship of the internet is bullsh*t in my opinion.

The next best thing to a full blown attack on the nation's speed camera network :P

I'm in...

This guy is doing something about it over in the states http://blogs.phoenixnewtimes.com/valleyfever/2009/09/valley_monkey_has_37_unpaid_ph.php

Back to the topic, I completely agree with smicky I'd just love to know what their reasoning behind the damn thing is, yeah it will be harder to find some stuff but it will also most probably block a lot of legitimate stuff and just make the already "supper fact" internet even slower.

I've seen the banned list of websites few month ago and some of the stuff on there should be banned but there were also legitimate sites on there. If they could ban some of that stuff without affecting the rest I wouldn't mind but I don't think they are capable of doing it right, not sure if it's even possible.

The information is around on how to work around filtering anyway and the people that are the biggest problem already use those sort of measures to cover up their identity and hide their tracks. So this much like a lot of our criminal laws will have the biggest impact on those who do the right thing most of the time and have very little impact on the people who really need to be punished.

Unfortunately there will be millions of dollars wasted in the process that could be used for worthwhile causes.

I agree gregor, I believe in tangible effect. Internet censorship doesn't have any tangible benefits to community. Will it decrease crime rates or make our citizen better ? Doubt it. For example - you can't stop minors looking at porn, it's better to teach them moral values than trying invain to stop them.

We have hospitals, schools and roads in desperate need of funding and all the federal govt can do is piss away money on a useless filter.
