As title says, I have just changed my plenum. I took the inlet manifold completely off to bolt the new plenum top to the lower half. I had to remove the fuel rail and injectors, I numbered all the injectors so I know they are back where they belong. I plugged all the sensors etc back in and connected all the hoses and extended my throttle body wires. The motor will start but idles up to 2200rpm for about 5 seconds then it drops to 1000 and sounds like its running on 3 cylinders!!!!!

Could it have something to do with fuel pressure??? Or maybe I have hooked up a hose to the manifold wrong or something?????????

someone please help. I am suppose to be taking it to elite for a retune tommorrow.

Cheers

Steve

I used sealant between the plenum top and bottom half. I cant hear it leaking anywhere but I'll double check the vacuum lines. Im thinking losing fuel pressure, dont know how though? It wont stall but I dont like the sound its making during idle. Popping and running on 3 or less!!!

Does the oxygen sensor have to be before the throttle body????????? I put mine in under the plenum?? On my old piping (rapid) it was before. Will this make a difference??

mine had a high pitch whistle when it was leaking. Those vacuum lines are pretty easy to come lose or leave one off couple of mine are zip tied on

dunno very strange mine was very small leak was your plenum powder coated? That s where my mistake was I had to clean of the face then a new gasket. If its a huge leak it may have a bigger affect but mine was minor and the car ran fine anything over 3g there was a whistle. I also had no secondary map sensor connected for a week and the car ran fine ( the one before the throttle body) I kept it below 3g though watching afrs
