Becarefull as the company I purchased my Xcal 2 through told me

to go with the Xcal2 not the Livewire as it had issue's on our cars.

Try Matt at BPR (Bullet Performance Racing) he maybe able to shread

some light on these for you.

He is a Dreamscience supplier who where dealing through SCT but from

last I had heard they where doing there own software and moving away

from SCT.

I was able to purchase the Racer Pro software from him over a year ago

it allows you to do your own tuning on your vehicle and is approx half the

cost of the workshop software.

The software is Advantage 3 its only differance is you only get the catch code

for your vehicle unless you purchase others. The workshop comes with all catch codes.

Racer Pro is ideal for people who want to tune there own car, keep in mind its pretty

complex and theres alot to learn. I have good old school tuning ability of carb'd vehicles

and have been able to get my head around the software, albiet still heaps to learn.

Give Matt (BPR) a call he is very clued on and I'm sure he can help you.

Spoke with CV and they hadnt come accross the livewire so they couldnt make any comment.

from the research I have done these came out prior to the Xcal 3 (not in aust though).

Pricing wise, your looking at roughly the same cost buying one of these fropm capa and getting 3 custom tunes done by your tuner as you would getting an xcal 3 and 3 custom tunes all from your tuner.

The delema I have is that I would prefer to get it all from the tuner so If I have a problem I can just go back to them. on the other hand I feel capa got short changed by sct and wouldn't mind supporting them a bit + live wire has some nifty features (even if it is pretty damn huge).

I guess I'll think it over and see what other opinions pop up over the weekend.

Thx 01txr re bpr but as I am in sydney. I wouldnt mind something like pro racer but with my limited knowlege and a 40k investment in the car, I think I'll stick with the most conservative option - xcal3/livewire

not worth it.

have know of people having software issues with them. the box itself.

yeh its got a tiny shift light and you can monitor different stuff.

but if your tuner is competant, why would you need to bother monitoring stuff?

and if youve got time to be watching the little screen on the livewire in front of you, you arent driving hard enough!!

Bogan - Heard he was caring a lot more weight than you, and that you had some wheel spin

but his was bagging them pulling away from you.

I will have to make sure I catch it next round.
