hey ppl just a quick question has anybody got a service on this box using all genuine parts oil, sump and filter and how much did it cost? a auto specialist said he'd do it for $400 all genuine parts replacing oil filter sump etc. ford wanted $1400 they said 400 was not possible because the parts alone are worth 600+ anyone know what the deal is and had any experiences?? they found a leak on my gearbox and fixing that under warranty hopefully this fixes a slow 1st to 2nd gear change all the other gears are quick and responsive but 1st to 2nd is slower any 1 had this issue??? thanks antonio

that's not too bad. The genuine zf pan/filter from motospec was about $190 but I thought the oil was as dear as poison & could only be sourced through ford??? I used transmax z with a full flush cost about $150 - $200 worth of oil so if there not using the genuine gear than very possible for that price

I think just the genuine oil alone is around $500.

:brightidea:

Genuine oil is sooooo expensive. Unless it has come down in price since I did my trans service using genuine parts, I didn't get much change from $1, 000

I think that in the coming years when the BF starts to age a bit, the service price for the ZF should drop as more and more people will want or need to have their box serviced. Lets bloody hope so.

You can do it for much cheaper by using transmax z oil. That is how I did my 2nd oil change with the ZF.
