Try spending $150k and that happends.They are a massed produced engine so there is always going to be defected parts or human error.Ive heard of the same things with Expensive Daewoo and ford V8,s aswell.

Your just the unlucky person that copped the lemon motor.CHIN UP!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah its not the first time that my family has bought a "lemon" Ford product.....we are just too faithful to the oval badge (well except I have owned 2 mazdas in the last 4yrs)

Anyway apparently the complete engine is going to be replaced and any assoicated parts that may have been damaged as well.....seems my phone calls to certain people within Ford engineering today may have worked

Will keep ya's all informed, when I get more information.

Well had to take the XLT ranger loan car back to them today as they needed it for someone else and guess what I got in its place..... a 2002 BA wagon that has been trashed (the car is a absolute pighouse inside and out) and is dangerous to drive! I was totally appalled and lodged a formal complaint against the "dealer" as soon as I got home...... within in a hour I had a call from ford customer care and they are arranging a FG rental car for me tommorow at there expense until my G6ET is fully fixed which may be up to 4weeks.

I feel for you, especially since you've only had it for such a short time!

My car has been to the dealer on a number of occasions to fix an oil leak, which it has had since new. I actually picked it up today - it took them 3 days to replace the sump seal, which was leaking - hopefully that's the last of it.

farken hell less than 1000kms on a brand new 50k+ car and it blows up - I would be wanting a brand new car !!!!!!!

defo check every sqcm of it for scratches dings and marks cause swapping a motor is a decent sized job and the monkeys out the back wont show much concern for your car.. unless you have a good dealer//

At the very least Ford should arrange to 'trade' the car on a new one (read exact swap) once the car is fixed.

But given that Ford's biggest problem is down to moronic service levels, they're unlikely to do anything.

I wish Ford would give me a brand new car but there is no way that is going to happen, instead I'll just get my car "patched" up and then it'll forever going back to a ford dealer to get things fixed until the warrenty expires.....

Well at least Ford customer service has today arranged for a rental car to replace the sh*tbox (deathtrap) that my ford dealer gave me until my car is fixed
