Any advice for when to hit the plex? I need to run a time before mods are done and that will have to be before end of season. Is it usually crowded near the end? Also I finish work in Freo at 6:30 on wednesdays, does that give me enough time to get down there and get runs?

I agree from what I've heard and read that if you baby it, you don't seal the piston rings very well. Drive it in a bit, let it warm up properly I'd say (10-15mins) before giving it any, but people say the cop cars seem faster because they don't pussy foot around when they get them and it runs them in nicely. Mine seems fast at any rate but I won't know until I get to the track
