At last an update.

Car finally made it to the workshop, looks like it leaned out No 5, spark plug tip gone and compression way down when tested.

Motor now coming out for a complete assessment as to whether it's a rebuild or new Atomic short.

At least I'm making progress.

atomic is a good option. Hopefully you dont need to spend anywhere near $20K ouch!!!

Why a lean out on # 5???

Just looking to run low 11s and using the NOS for a high 10 on the stock turbo.

Way fast enough on the street as it is.

ZF is an issue as you know.

Alternatives are expensive.

Why a lean out on # 5???

I have just had a leanout on No 1 using Seimens 60 Lb Deka injectors, I found the injector flowing the correct amount but the inject wasnt atomising the fuel, it was more like spraying out of hose sprinkler, this washed the lubricant off the bore causing a friction spot where the piston scored the bore, have the injectors tested with observation of the spray pattern.

Otherwise look at flow testing the intake manifold for runner balance.

Look for the reason for the leanout before starting the new engine up with the parts from your old engine. :spoton:

Is that a common thing with the Deka injectors? What would cause something like that Huffin?

Bad luck on the engine, let us know if you go with a rebuild or Atomic!

It seems that the best solution is to test even brand new injectors, mine were new and one was suspect, after the fact (engine fritzed)

I purchased some 3 new injectors to replace the suspect ones and found one to be suspect again, I have sent these back for further analysis by the wholesaler, so 2 out of 9 and 2 others that I am not totally happy with. The second new one also flowed 4 millilitres less fuel

Mind you these were tested on a Flow test bench with glass cylinders and I personally observed ( best way)

I dont want to answer your question because I dont know what to compare them to, however I did put 6 fresh Bosch injectors in and never had a fault with them.

I run an ED Falcon Supercharged with a Vortech V2 T Trim forged CP pistons and Precision motorsport Rods running in on 270 Rwkw safe tune (rich).

Also No problems Des Flurane...... I know your pain...

Huffin, reason I asked, is that I just got a set of these injectors installed so I'm obviously a bit worried now..

I'm running 300rwkw at 12psi, and the afr's are all good..

Hopefully everything stays ok.
