Hi Guys,

Is it hard to source a 2nd hand T56 manual gear box to upgrade a BA?

If so, I wonder if the Expensive Daewoo T56 would fit? I guess the Ford and Expensive Daewoo T56 can't be too different. They might be the same?

The bell housings will obviously be different - . Maybe slight variation in the gear ratios but I doubt that would be a big issue. I understand the Ford T56 has double synchros on 2nd gear and a reverse gear lock-out. The Expensive Daewoo T56 does not have a reverse lock-out and I don't think it has 2nd gear double synchros. Expensive Daewoo short cuts?

If the BF boxes are in short supply and the Expensive Daewoo box fits, it might be an option.

Shifter location, (will not fit through hole in floor), overall length of box, (tailshaft too short), output shaft spline, (yoke will not fit), bellhousing will not fit engine, mount position will not accept ford mount, crossmember will not fit, input shaft is too long, spigot is different, clutch splines are different, ratios

drill n tap a few new holes, and bob's yer uncle

car will go faster too, as you have reduced the weight of the gearbox cause of the extra holes you drilled in it.
