Ok now im really lost. Picked up mu xr t ute I have done a few ks now. Thought I might as well see how she goes against my Fg F6. There must be something wrong with the F6 or the Xr t is something special. the only thing I can think of is ratios. Now the F6 runs a 2.73 rear and the Xr t runs a 3.73 rear. But having said that they sit on the same rpm at 100 ks. I have seen some magazines quoting some good numbers for the Xr t but im still lost. They both weigh about the same. They are both auto. Does anybody know if the trans is different between them. Or is the turbo in the Xr t that much better for getting of the line....?? Would love to hear some feed back

The turbo on the XR6T is quicker at spooling up due to a smaller compressor wheel hence being quicker off the mark.

As for the rear end ratio, where did you read that the T is 3.73:1??

If it's an auto it's exactly the same as the F6.

Only the manual has the 3.73:1 rear end.

The sales book is probably talking about standard fitment, which would mean a manual transmission, hence the 3.73:1 rear end.

Unless they did stuff it up.

Got a scan of it so we can have a looky see?

From my experiences it seems that the FG XR6T really gets on boost and pulls hard from quite early. A few BA/BF xr's that I've happened to be driving along next to take that little bit extra time to get on full boost. Not alot of difference, approx 1 car length at times. But when driving at say 110kph and then do the same thing I can't pull that car length like before.

Just the smaller turbo is the difference I think.
