Hi guyz,

My car picked up some issues on a recent cruise and would like to share my recent experiements I tried with my car....

Problem(s)

Well, the car seems to be holding back on full boost (15-16psi) as if suffering from fuel starvation or something rather?? But then again, I do have the upgraded deka injectors and Walbro fuel pump so I dont think there should be an issue in this department?? It does not miss @ idle and it is otherwise smooth from the low to midrange.

The second issue I have which I picked up on the same cruise was that the car seems to take longer (about 3-4seconds) to crank over but this only occurs after the car has been sitting for a while, but when I go to crank it again after freshly turning the car off then it start straight away? Dont know if this makes sense but yeah that's the second issue I have with my car!

Diagnosing the car

Checked and cleaned all hoses/piping and electronic connector's. All were intact!

Did the boost solenoid maintenane

Replaced the spark plugs with the common NGK Iridiums BKR6EIX which are already gapped to .80mm

Replaced Coil's with my cousin's car

I did notice a difference after changing the plugs (ever so slightly) but the issue was still there so I exchanged coils with my cousin (XXRLNT) however the holdback was still there and I was like WTF!!!!!!!! :stirthepot:

Any help will be appreciated..

All in all, I do have the car booked @ Springy Performance first thing on Tuesday so I will let you guyz know what the promblem was....

it could also be the hose on the walbro pump has split, that's what happened to mine and the symptoms were very similar, it will still suck the fuel thrue but with a lot less preasure then normal

Aha now your symptoms make sense San.Possible Fuel filter or even dicky fuel pump. Have you been getting your petrol from anywhere different?

I normally fill up from my local servo's and ALWAYS use the 98ron stuff....

Sounds fuel related to me.

Kind of like playing pin the tail on the donkey by the look of it. :roflmbo:
