December 4, 200817 yr #1 SO, here iam, asking which CAI setup is the best??? for me!I have a 2004 BA xr6 T 4 speed auto. And I was just curious as to what CAI I should go with, I want to upgrade to something that I want ever want to upgrade again lol.In the long run, over the next 12monthz or so, I will be chasing, 350-400rwkw.Now what CAI, Intaker system should I be going with??Keep the stock one, and do that cut a hole in the lower part of the air box and fit the f6 snorkel, (quick question about the snorkel, when its done does it just hang there, I would imagine it would work like the stock one, but it would just get colder air from being underneath the headlight... so u will be getting 50/50 cold/hot air ?? lol.2ndly, should I go with the ss/growler setup, and then get the f6 snorkel, or should I get something like the proces west setup, remove the air box, and have a big dirty stainless steel pipe to a pod??Any feedback would be appericated thanx all.John.
December 4, 200817 yr #2 Hey mate, first of all you will NEVER get 400rwkw using the stock crossover, so dont even bother with an f6 snorkel or growler intake if you are chasing that kind of power, you will need to get an airbox and relocate the battery, or look into an under battery CAI. Rapid, Process West and Plazmaman make some wicked setups, search the forum and you shall find

December 4, 200817 yr #4 Pretty much mate yea, check out this stuff:Rapid SystemsPlazmaman CAIPlazmaman Airbox Edited December 4, 200817 yr by PURVIE
December 4, 200817 yr #5 Don't waste your time with the factory airbox/crossover if you want 350+. It can be done, but why stress the engine & turbo more than necessary??I run the Nizpro intake & battery relocation kit & it does what it's supposed to
December 4, 200817 yr #7 Author look at rapids and plazasmans 4inchers... they dont look that cold, sitting in engine bay suck hot air...
December 4, 200817 yr #8 Both are blocked off from the engine bay and should only be sucking air from under the head light. These intakes are designed to work with Stage2 + systems so you would also be looking at getting piping and a intercooler as well, But if you are chasing 350kw + you really need to do that anyway.
December 4, 200817 yr #9 I'm pretty sure that Rap1d recommends the 4" intake for anything over 350rwkw, as that's about the limit of the under battery setups...go the whole hog straight up, either a full Process West of Rap1d kit should do the trick..
