Ive been doing a lot of freeway driving lately and am starting to realise the most dangerous things on the road.

Fatigue

Trucks (at least the f*ckwits who hit 150 to make it up the next hill)

People who refuse to do above 80km/h in a 100 or 110 zone

Now all of us admittedly like to drive fast, we wouldnt be driving these cars if we didnt, but we are constantly getting harassed about speeding and all that kinda stuff.

What I wanna know is wats more dangerous?

Speeding to stay with the traffic

Or going slower than the speed limit.

"There's no such thing as safe speeding" ------ I reckon there is

ahh, f#*ked up, meant to vote for the moron going 80k's in a 100 zone but voted for both by accident.

These are far more dangerous, they cause traffic to become backed up, causing people to become very frustrated, which in trun leads to people taking VERY stupid risks to try and pass the said moron. Not only that it takes a while for the red mist to disappear and thus MUCH more likely to have an accident further up the road.

Fatigue/boredom and becoming complacent is the biggest killer on our roads.

speeding is illegal, they can and do book you for it, doesnt matter where you live. If you dont like it dont speed, if you wanna speed accept the risks associated with it and choose your place and time carefully

Lack of knowledge on how to brake properly and lack of decent brakes have a massive impact too

I'm voting for people who have no consideration for others and no idea of their surroundings or others around them...

Now, I don't have a problem with people doing the speed limit or even a little under in certain circumstances - but I do have a problem if those people are impeding others. My pet hate is people doing the same speed in the right lane as someone in the left lane. All they need to do is hop into the left lane and they can safely and comfortably do whatever speed they like and let other drivers pass. Not only is this common courtesy but it is the law on most two lane roads around here. I'm a huge believer in driving to the conditions. If I deem it safe too, I will go a little faster than the posted limit and I like to able to overtake people. Having said that, I will also drive slower if the conditions are bad but I'm always keeping an eye out for other drivers and making sure I am not in their way. I see too many people driving around completely oblivious to other drivers/road conditions and just carrying on their merry way like they are the only ones on the road. That is what causes all the frustration and road rage. Some of these people should ride around on a motorbike for a while and see how long they last not paying any attention. Natural selection can sort those toffs out!

Probably going to be a popular topic on a subject that often gets a mention and ppl's blood pressure going.

Anyway its a null topic that got a null vote.

I also stuffed up my vote.....Of course the moron doing 80km/h is more dangerous, but the police tend to only look at the cars that create revenue to enforce any fines on.

But the poor Learner driver is restricted in NSW to 80KPh and the P plater to only 90kph, are they now branded as dangeours because there driving well under the sign posted speed limit. How often do we see heavy vehicles crawling along at 40Kph as they try and go up hills or a bloke towing his caravan along at 80Kph. The old duck driving along at 80 pissing us all off is not anymore dangerous then these other examples, but we'd rather blame them for our own frustration.

And ZAP without thinking has chosen to blame an organisation that benefits not one cent from any penalty notices issued. Would he have the same opinion for those running red lights and cutting off other cars or is he only fixated on speeding matters.
