  4. bit of an update, Jess is no more. had to put her down earlier this year after 14 great yrs with her. And after a lot of soul searching and debating within my own head picked up pippa a few weeks ago. Heres a pic that was sent to me when she was 3wks old. great with my son, enjoys a good game and is taking to her training quite well.

  6. Hey guys and gals. There is a track day at Wakefield this coming monday 21st nov. Organizer is looking for a few more cars. If your not working and are interested in having a run send me a pm and I will pass on contact details. Believe price was $200 per car(1or2 drivers doesn't matter) but dropped it to $175 to try and get more cars there. Also believe there will be a driver education session where an "instructor" (read that as joy rides!)can be taken around and then a timed session from about 1pm or thereabouts.
  7. I run wilwoods 4spot (think they are dynalite, though could be superlite) front and rear on my sports sedan. unfortunately they have a tendancy to spread the caliper under heavy braking, and this is on a 750kg race car, not a 1.5 tonne family sedan. this has a tendancy to obviously increase pad wear AND disc wear. Dont know about your laws over in scotland, but here in NSW australia these calipers are illegal due to not having dust boots, although that hasnt stopped a LOT of people fitting them anyway. personally, if I could afford it I would fit brembo's or AP calipers, but that aint ever going to happen.

  9. so what, ya didnt even look at an aston? soft co(k! how bloody long have you been having wet dreams over them for now, and instead ya went a merc!!! sheesh. mind you, I cant talk, our T is long gone, replaced by a with a tractor motor,
  10. I do know of one mob in tas, just their name has slipped my mind at the moment. As for costs, they arent that bad if you know where to buy from. I know that compared to a lot of the parts I sell for fiats and lancias, my old BA was absolutely horrendous. I can sell a fiat clutch master cyl for $165 and make a nice profit, yet fraud wanted nearly $650, simply because of a broken plastic clip! Anyway, any other cars your looking at? have you considered the VW golf R32? These things are weapons, again, would love one but would never be able to afford one.
  11. I specialize on italian cars, mainly older ones but still do a bit on the newer alfa's and Fiat's. Selespeed, as has been mentioned DONT TOUCH IT. If the car is out of warranty, dont take it to a Alfa dealer, thieving f#^kers! timing belt, all idler pulleys, aux belt, water pump on a twin spark 4cyl is like $2500 from a dealer. A customer bought a 156 selespeed against our recommendation, crapped itself shortly after. Luckily he got the car cheap, as it aint so cheap now! Some of the servicing items on the V6's are a right royal PAIN IN THE AR$E!!!!! oil filters are slightly harder than impossible to get to, air filters are nowhere near as easy to change as on the falcons, rear bank spark plugs require plenum removal (well the last one I worked on did, wonder if they changed that yet?), gear shifter brackets have been known to break (mounted underneath the car, but above the heat shielding resulting in another PITA job). most of the selespeed dramas are pre '05' cars, same as the shifter problem. overall, would I buy a good 147 GTA, FARKEN OATH, hopefully I may be getting a work supplied car of my choice within the next year, in which case these are one of any italian cars I will be looking at. CBXRT, where abouts are you? if your interested I probably know a good bloke who can look over the car for you, make sure its sound.
  12. what brand pads have you been using on ya taxi? this would have a major bearing on fade too
