November 10, 200817 yr #21 best price I can get on the Toyo T1R is $484 on the sunshine coast, how much you southerners pay?
November 10, 200817 yr #22 Think I'm gonna try the 595's that many are talking about, no grip here with the standard 17" dunny's
November 10, 200817 yr #23 toyo T1Rwhen I had 307 rwkw, car couldn't spin them on launch at the drags, almost held 1st gear on the street, 2nd gear just gripped and wentunreal grip for a street tyreBrilliant tyre but they don't come in the right sizes in 20's Sumitomo ZIII's are also really good but same problem...Gonna try either Proxes 4's or Khumo KU31's again but when I had both of these in 245/35r19's they weren't the best. Hopefully in a 265 they have a little more grip!
November 10, 200817 yr #24 I got that problem with the 20'swas gonna try proxy 4, but couldn't get then in Kal, had to wait a week to get them in which wasn't an option as the old boots had belts hanging out of them so I was forced into the kumho's again.somehow and its got me f*cked how, the new kumho's are wider then the old ones I had. the ones that the mags came with rubbed a tiny bit on the guards. the new ones have smoke pouring out of the guards, paints peeled off, tyre walls melted.
November 10, 200817 yr #25 What width tyres are you running? Are they the KU31's & how's the grip??That ute's gonna be full coon spec once you leav Kal
November 10, 200817 yr #26 already is, some of the cars the coons got here are better then mine. ku31's are average, got about the same grip as standard 18 inch dunlops
November 10, 200817 yr #27 I've got about 5 or 6 people buying Toyo PROXES 4's and no one has had a problem. One guy runs almost 400 at the wheels in a jap car and he raves about them. If you find a tyre place that buys lots of Toyo tyres you can get em as cheap as $320 - $330 a tyre fitted Get his ^^^ tyres, there f*cking gold. Oh and Nankangs, LMAO! There usesless.
September 18, 200917 yr #28 I am having the same issues with my BFII ute, pretty bad wheelspin in first and second. Of course 900NM of torque running through a live axle has that effect. FWIW I am currently running yokie Advan V103s all round.I have been told the only way to stop/lessen is to go wider rims to take a 265 or 275 tyre, which I will do if I can find a rim I like. One tyre recommended to me by a pretty reputable guy was a Maxxis MA-Z1. Apparently they grip as well as any and are cheaper than the better known brands ( although still not really that cheap in that size), so worth a shot IMO.I ve got the Z1 in 19s, cost me $250 a tyre, I wouldnt say they have heaps of grip but I think that's coz my camber is stuffed so not all the tyre is actually touching
September 19, 200917 yr #29 Im still using stock rims, 245/35/19 and I had Michelin Pilot Preceda 2's that worked pretty well for anything up to ~320rwkw...Once they go to about half tread, I upped the power to ~345rwkw, they become hard and noisy with useless traction (spun at highway speed if you booted it) and all the way from stop.. shocking. Now, with 370+ rwkw, I just fitted a set of Yokohama Advan Sport v103's and they are so far brilliant. NOT a cheap option, but I dot have to worry about clearance, rolling, new rims etc etc etc!
