I was driving home one night, and I decided to give it abit of stick in second gear, all off a sudden oil light comes on, and my oil gauge is reading 0 oil pressure? I turned the car straight off, there was no bang or anything when I gave it abit, luckly my mate lives just around the corner so I rolled it down the hill to get to his, ithe next day I got it towed back to mine, I turned it on to see if there was any unusual noise in the engine, I could hear abit of slapping going on, nothing to loud. Car is going in to get checked out soon.

Car has 342rwkw atm and running 14 pound.

It’s a Bf MKII ute with 30000 clicks on it so im gonna be very pissed off if its the bottom end.

What are your opinions guys?

Cheers

Goran

probably oil pump mate, possibly a bent rod - if your oil pressure gauge says 0, that's a bad sign...

Yeah oil pump... did you give it a big rev?

They usually go if its been reved too much, like lots of 6000rpm action.

Yeh was at about 6000rpm, what would cause the slapping in the engine though?

mmmmmm maybe 6000rpm with no oil might cause a slapping sound you must of hit the limiter

Better be sure and get a built bottom end! :spoton:

If there is no oil in the engine the pistons will be making direct contact with the block and this could lead to a bent rod. Either way mate, you'll have to pull the motor down to see the full extent of the damage. Hope its not too bad for your sake
