I havent tested shift alert functionality on a BA2 cluster. But I am sure you can enable it on BA2 onwards. It requires a reprogramming of the eeprom inside the cluster to enable it.

You need to de solder the eeprom reprogram it and re solder it. I can do it in about 20mins.

The only person that I know that would be able to do it is myself and most likely VDO.

If its anything else but a FPV you will have a 7000rpm tacho.

The only thing different on a Police car is that they have Police Mode enabled on the cluster , which yes I do have turned on in mine.
