the better option in my mind is to ramp up the laws concerning underage drinkers.

if you are caught supplying alcohol to a minor you get a huge fine and posible jail time.

if your a shop and are caught on more than one occasion you loose your license to sell.

I agree it shouldn't be masked as a way to stop binge drinking, but is it really all that bad? It's a few bucks extra for a luxury item. You may not like it and it may not seem fair, but if complaining about a beer tax is on your list of priorities, lifes pretty f***n good.

I would be more concerned with the cost of necessities I.e petrol and food.

when you think about a % of alcohol sales that actually goes to underage binge drinking, it is easy to see that it is a money grabbing scheme.
