as a fellow t56'er I can vouch for the castrol transmax Z oil making a HUGE difference in shift quality and all round better oil.

also try checking all your shifter bolts, sometimes the shifter bolts both on the actual shaft and the base, work loose and vibrate like a bitch.

if either of those dont fix the problem it lies deeper and id be pushing hardcore for warranty work!

Tranzmax Z although compatible with Dextron, will void your warranty with Ford.

bullsh*t.

its a compatible fluid and if ford wants to deny warranty they have to prove the oil is not suitable for the task and would have to prove the oil standards wrong.

I cant see this happening!

So you are telling people it is 100% ok for them to use Tranzmax Z and not void their warranty? Will you warrant their boxes on denial from ford.

Good luck dude, I had a huge fight over this with the one of the Ford driveline specialists, and if it is found that any other fluid apart from the one supplied with and

recommended by Tremec will void your warranty. Good luck to the dealer that goes and does this, I can guarantee the cost of all warranty work will be from their pockets.

Tranzmax Z although compatible with Dextron, will void your warranty with Ford. One is red and one is green so unless you are able to completely remove one or the other, Ford will be able to tell.

I have had my box replaced as have many others here with no avail. The T56 has no factory insulation around the stick like the 5 speed did and even if it did, would make no difference. Does the gearbox operate normally or is there any other faults, jumping out of gear? Mate, you are quite welcome to come have a listen to mine and I can explain it better to you. Pm me for my details, I am in Campbellfield.

Transmax Z is far superior to dexron 3 as it is fully synthetic. There is no such oil as dextron or tranzmax.

APPLICATION

CASTROL TRANSMAX Z is recommended where either DEXRON III, II

E or II D fluids are specified. CASTROL TRANSMAX Z has proved

most suitable in severe service applications where high temperatures

have reduced transmission life. CASTROL TRANSMAX Z has been

shown to reduce automatic transmission fluid temperatures by up to

200C in severe duty applications.

dont take it personally I was only having a joke, and your probably right ,I know what Ford are like they try and get out of everything, but seeing as the oil is compatible and superior I doubt they would have a case.
