Ed Intake Manifold On The Xr6t

Has any one thought about or tried to use an eb-ed intake manifold on there t so you can use shorter intercooler piping. If it fits wouldent it be as good as some of the after market ones, after all the origanal bbe style manifold was for the internal butterflies to shorten the runner length at 3800rpm but the turbo manifold did away with this feature.

Will not fit at all different port sizes and shape just to start with.

There was a substantial increase in both power & torque when Ford moved to the broadband manifold on the EF Falcon... If you carved up & welded an ED manifold to suit your XR6T you would might see better plenum filling with the front facing TB but then lose top end flow due to the long intake runner length... You would probably find a loss in driveability and a bit more turbo lag. The broadband manifold is excellent and seems it only needs to be replaced with a Nizpro type item if you are chasing massive KWs

if you measure the manifold lengths the ED length is the same as the RF/BA short runner.

differemt manifold bolt entrance and fouls aircon

what about an ea 3.9 centrepoint inlet manifold? with the tennis racket style air filter setup, I rekon this would work sick!

Incase anyone's interested, if you have a look under your bonnet you'll find the the turbo inlet manifold doesnt have the 'broadband' butterflies, its just pretty much the shell....
