Woolies, despite being a pack of ruthless mongrels , legally to the edge of breaching competition law actually run a very good business.

Efficient in the extreme via numerous cost reducing initiatives(project Mercury). volume drivers and margin improvement ( mostly transferred from the suppliers P&L to theirs) they have driven their profit growth well in excess of sales.

To the tune of $AU1.3bn and Dan Murphy is a poofteenth of this and that is one of there better businesses. Pffffttt

Might be a good business but bugger working for them again. Slaved my arse off for 5 years to become a dairy "manager" working 50 hours a week and getting paid SFA.

But currently Dan Murphy's FTW. As has been said, they'll jack up prices soon.

I've often found Nukenburra (innaloo) to have some decent prices and a decent range (ie stuff like Bacardi 151 that you dont normally find around the place!)

there's a great little local independant bottle shop in the same place as the tuart hill macca's for all you WA guys. tuart hill liquor. very good prices, great big wall of imported beer, well worth a visit just to see it! jose and the boys are great fun and friendly to boot, but yeh the wall of imported beer is something to be reveered
