Had a good talk to my exhaust shop and I did not know that to keep the XR6T down in power and sound ,the standard exhaust system back muffler is only a 2" muffler inside same as the center.

If you have a look around here you'll find the exhaust is actually pretty good, and 2 1/4" most of the way through. The stock cat has an ID of about 2 1/2" from the dump pipe, ie replacing the cat with a free flowing one (aftermarket or stock) can double the flow of the stock system whilst sounding and looking almost standard.

And I'll bet the exhaust system he's offering isn't stainless either for that price.

The $400 was just to put in the mufflers front and back and not the pipe sorry , this is the only turbo car that I have had that is hard to play with dam ford .

what happen to the good old days all my other cars I just put a MicroTech management system on them, 3" exhaust ,intercooler + more for about $3500 all up then I had big HP. my old RX7 had 300hp and sorry to say but it kicked 12.4 1/4

BUT I HAVE ALWAYS HAD FORDS AND I LOVE THEM .

  • Still have a turbo, it's just on a diesel.

I bet your other cars did not have anywhere as much tech as the falcon.

Mine's got injectors, cooler and retune and has about 400rwhp, no new computer or exhaust required. I'm not complaining, total cost was less than 2,500. I'm guessing it would do a low 12 or mid to high 11 (it did a 13.4 @ 107 mph with a 2.4 60' and 315 rwhp).

Getting that kind of power for 2500 seems an unreal price.

I am looking at getting first a stage 1 kit on- cost about 1700 (CAPA) and that will increase the power to about 240rwkw (320rwhp). For an extra 700-800, you are getting another 60ish rwkw. What did you do extra to get that for 800? the phase one kit is a CAPA and injectors.

you have to get valve springs for it to run consistently, a high flow cat will be needed too I would assume.

tquarrell - is your car an F6 or XR?
