Or maybe I should stop driving in my full medievil suit of armour complete with sword (it glows when orcs are nearby)

It's not a +1 sword is it cause I been looking for one.

I've been copping it lately as well .. pulled a good 4-5mm spark on Tuesday night. Seems to have stopped now though. Funny thing is that my missus never got zapped once

try holding the frame of the door or putting your hand on the car body as you get out and you won't get zapped as any static build up from sliding out of the seat goes straight to earth.

80's clothing and wool suits makes problem worse.

Yeah I get it too but only everynow and then. When it does happen its a quite a zap though.

for the record all of these ideas work, while you get out of the car.. I started getting zapped when putting the key into the door at work. im pretty sure it is the plastic soled shoes that do it. it is much worse with leather seats than the pov pack ones!

Same old story we've seen b4... It's static electricity.. Shoes, certain, materials will generate it.. The old idea of grabbing the door frame when you get out works for me... :-)
