Quick question...where the manual says "for the first 1500Klm do not tow, do not drive at constant speeds, do not let idle for long periods...and DO NOT RACE the engine...on that last point...how closley did you guys follow the advice?

Not that I've gone crazy fangin' it all over the place, but I have laid the boots in a few occasions...nothing too crazy though...but I feel guilty!

One more thing....is the insert of the XR Luxury trim really leather/suede...or fabric?

if you are not happy with the stereo then as someone else said get an ampsome nice splits and a sub and it will be a big difference.b but I would also get an aftermarket headunit and install that because that makes it sound even better.

The Ford one comes with XR cut out of it and does the job as well for about $70.

Where do you get 'Ford' ones? I called Bayford today and asked about it, they said its an aftermarket thing, and they put me through to Autopro...who had em for $110!!!!

Do most guys have the lower grill...if so where did most of you get them from?

Im sure that this question comes up heaps...but I'll ask it anyway...

I've had the car for a couple of weeks now...its got just over 1500Klms on the clock now, and lately it just doesn't feel as power impressive as it was the first week. Also the fuel economy is really bad..sitting at around 17L/100Km. I'm not driving it around going flatout or anything...just the occasional squirt here and there to vary the revs and run in the engine as per the running in guide.

I did post another thread about hitting the rev limiter a few times accidentally...so not sure if this has something to do with it...

The weather in Melbourne is slowly warming up...so this could contribute as well I suppose...

But generally...do people find this happens after 1500Klm's? Is the engine still considered 'tight"...?

Any thoughts or comments appreciated..!

Mate don't stress to much, these things are always thirsty and can take a fair bit of punishment (on stock power) just get a edit and that should help your fuel economy. Mines at 14.7 but she only drinks BP Ultimate.
