Hi Guys

I have a drama with my 04xr6t.

When im going down the highway or coasting at 3000RPM (Approx) and hold the revs at a constant spot (getting ready too boot it) The car starts to flutter very badly (like a massive miss fire)

Then when I change into the next gear,it clears up

This problem is becoming very annoying and embarassing as the other day I had a wrx ready to give me a run,So I held it in 2nd gear (manual 5 speed) started to build up revs as I was driving onto the h/way on ramp,But the car started to miss fire/flutter very badly with smoke comming out the back of the car as I tried to throttle on.But as I said before once I change to the next gear all is good.

Any ideas guys

Mods are

1/ custom tune

2/ 2nd CAI

3/ Cobra valve springs

4/ Walbro pump

Cheers

Sounds like a mixture issue, as this is really the only thing which will produce smoke under the circumstances you describe.

Is this a new problem, or have you had it for a while?

Get your tuner to have a look at what is happening, and see if the tune needs adjusting

There has always been a flat spot/Dead area at around 2000RPM (feels like the throttle has disapeared for a while) even after the tune

But this dramas seems to have happened since replacing the valve springs (I think)

The car now feels like its not right (feels very loose on the road) hard to describe

Almost all the time it just doesnt feel right (it still goes realy well) but feels like its going to brake down.

Its very hard to explain, but feels like its not smooth as it used to be

One more question

I have some new siemans injectors ready to be installed,But im waiting on my plasmaman cooler to arrive.

If I get my car retuned when I get the injectors done.

Do I have to get the car retuned after I install the cooler.

Cheers

Short answer No.

Long answer Yes......

Everytime you adjust anything that may improve / impede flow you will need a tune to get maximum benifit.....

Install all of the nits and peices that you want. If they work then the car should lean out (if not then you have gone backwards) ... Then get a new tune.

Driving the car with the car fluttering, burping and farting can be dangerous !! :buttrock:
