Same here, has been for a couple of years now. Ford apparently told me they fixed the seat belt -most likely just gave it a quick clean as it became slow again just after a couple of months.

Mine is still slow to retract (drivers side) The passenger side is on it's way out too!

Even the back seat belts are siht to! Both left & right seatbelts have gone slow

Another typical Ford problem, which they don't want to know about :oohwoah:

gave mine another thorough clean with a toothbrush over the weekend and it is not much better. didn't take the trim off mind you so maybe that's a job for next weekend.

I have a habit of throwing the buckle onto the seat when I leave the car so it doesn't get caught in the door, but its still yellow sticker material

everyone is quick to blame Ford, have you ever thought that the seat belt maybe made by a contracted company and that company may also supply a mulitude of car brands.

As per a lot of other things eg Bosch, Borg-Warner, Hella etc etc.

Well at least they don't pull out like the ve dungadore rear seat belts.

Mine is a bit slow as well and I will evenually pull it out see if it can be cleaned & relubed and refit it, if that does not fix it I will just buy a replacement which should give another 90 000 k's of use.

It's not as if it's going to cost me anywhere near the change from t5 to t56 gearbox, another problem if you have up the power level, not a Ford fault as it was not built to handle big power increases over what they built it to do.

But alot of people are quick to say that is another Ford fault.

Iam not in anyway sticking up for Ford as they do have some problems here and there and there spare parts price's and service price's are gold lined, but really try compairing the product with other cars in it's price range and I doubt you will get better.

That's my opinion and my 2c on the problem.

Maybe a good fix maybe to go back to the chrome metal guides of the early Falcon or start fitting roller bearing guides.

Or the cheap alternative just fit up some non retractable throw over belts out of a XY Falcon.(Think I will prefer a slow retractor than this option though).

I have the same problem I think there should be a saftey recall as this is a common problem and someone will end up getting killed.they shouldn,t be f*#king around with it.dont know how to start a poll but maybe we should start one to see how many are having the same problem.

What possible use is a poll? If your seat belt doesn't retract and its under warranty and Ford still won't fix it then clean it yourself or buy a new one!

This is a safety issue that a poll or a committee or harsh words or threats on a forum won't solve.

Fix it or be the first one to arrive at your accident.

***STUPID QUESTION ALERT****

How is it a safety issue?

If you are wearing it and it is loose from not retracting, if you have an accident it would be next to useless.

The only 2 way's it could be a safty issue is if you are driving leaning over your steering wheel and you have a accident, this however will still happen even if the belt is a quick retractor.

And the other is if it was not retracting and staying loose as in loose enough to fall off your shoulder.

Disagree for the poll. Just go and replace it.
