I found out that Ford in Townsville can test the TPS but won't release the stats on it to other mechanics so that they can't test it. And I really don't want to take my car back into ford.

hey guys read what I have written already if you could get a tps for free or borrow a mates one to test it then do it because I took my car to a mechanic and they said it was the #1,2 & 3 coil packs and the tps is not calobrating.

hey dude I have a 2002 model manual and im having the same problem. ive changed the tps, 3 coil packs (it was the #1,2 & 3 coil packsthat came up on the diagnostics), done the solenoid and cleaned the sh*t out of the TB and still same problem. (tps and coils $300 later and still no change)

on the diagnostics it says the "tsp not calobrating" I dont no what it means but ive been told the the tsp and your ecu are getting and sending the wrong readings eg if you to the floor with the pedal your ecu is reading that your at like 3/4 of the way on the pedal.

I still havent taken it to ford due to being broke but ill be taking it to ford as soon as I get cash but if you find out what the problem is can you let me know please

thanks, pete

My car is doing the same thing. Can you get the fault out of the ECU if you have an edit??

MG

The fault codes should be the same with an edit. Unfortunately the problem doesn't always produce a fault code when reading the ECU. I'm having the problem and no fault codes came up when we diagnosed it. Even flashed it back to factory and still no fault codes being recorded.

I had a problem with tps, the light was comming on sometimes. It ended up being the pedal assembly.

Total job came to $950 becaust the tps has 2 parts, (engine bay and pedal, along with cables etc) I had everything changed.

mine was doing the same would stall sometimes slowing to traffic lights(manual) took it to ford said no faults where coming up so they tighten the turbo and manifold bolts up and gave it a carbon clean. it was still the same. I read somewhere that you hold you foot flat when you start you car and the engine wont start then take you foot off than start it, its suppose to calibrate the tps not sure if this is true but the problem is gone now no more erratic rpm's
