Hi Guys,

My XR6T is a manual and lacking some power at the moment. I'm just wondering if the following is normal or not.....or do I have a semi-faulty TPS?

1. When coasting to a stop, should the car be idling up and down between 750-850 all the time or should it be sitting constant on something?

2. About once a month I'll turn the car on and it will idle extremely rough and almost stall (all other times the idle fine, but with the usual rocking etc.). When coasting to a stop, the car will idle between 250-750 and almost stall. I'll turn the car off and then back on and everything will be back to normal.

Any other comments and suggestions are welcome because I can't work out what's wrong.

Thanks,

Boony.

I would clean the throttle body first, then do the Boost Solinoid maintenance first.

I think cleaning the TB will fix the idel and the BS maint will bring back the lost power.

Tried the boost solenoid maintenance and that didn't work, tried a new boost solenoid and that did work either :sus:

when I had a diagnostics done it says the "tsp not calobrating" I dont no what it means but ive been told the the tsp and your ecu are getting and sending the wrong readings eg if you to the floor with the pedal your ecu is reading that your at like 3/4 of the way on the pedal.

I still havent taken it to ford due to being broke but ill be taking it to ford as soon as I get cash but if you find out what the problem is can you let me know please

Hey guys, I put up a post about this same topic around 3 weeks ago because I was experienceing the same problem with my car. I booked it in at ford and they found the TPS to be malfunctioning (surprise, surprise), anyway they replaced the TPS under warranty and did a throttle body clean and carbon flush and the car is running perfectly now....... Hope this helps mate

Cheers

Well I've just rung around and a new TPS from Ford in Townsville is $213.75, but in Brisbane it's $168.45. I also found out that nobody in Townsville can test a ford TPS for a fault either. I don't know what to do.

And FYI.......the TPS is the same in all BA 6 cylinder falcons, including the XR6 and XR6T.
