The V8 rules state that the engines have to be 5.0L pushrod jobs. The yanks still make them both in Ford and GM versions. As Turbo6man says, Mitsubishi and Toyota won't "invent" a 40 year old engine, and they have the GTP to race in now. However, when the Ford and GM marketing boys get the quad-cam V8s into the mainstream production cars, you'd better believe that a rule change allowing them into the V8 Supercars is on the cards. If that happens, then the Lexus V8 and (start a rumour here) an extra 2 cylinders onto a Mitsubishi 3.5litre V6, a la Pajero, and we have around 4.2 V8.........................................................
May 26, 200323 yr #13 Author Oh OK.I just remember reading that the 347s in the lsat TS50s were the last Windsors.Maybe that was in a production sedan? Are those Ford and GM's truck engines?
